Get a tanker from your water board
Try the official route first. It's usually cheaper, and you know where the water came from.
Before you call
- Have your full address, pincode and a nearby landmark ready.
- Know how much you need. Our daily need calculator helps.
- Make sure the tanker can reach your lane, and a pump or hose can reach your tank.
- Ask for a complaint or booking number, so you can follow up.
Delhi
DJB supplies piped water for a few hours a day in most colonies and runs tankers to water-short areas from its emergency centres. Colony-wise hours below come from its Summer Action Plan 2026.
Bengaluru
Areas without Cauvery pipelines depend on borewells and private tankers. BWSSB sells Cauvery water by tanker through Sanchari Cauvery (Kaveri on Wheels).
Hyderabad
Many areas get water on alternate days. HMWSSB books tankers through its website and its 24-hour customer care line.
Pune
PMC often shuts supply for maintenance on Thursdays and has moved several areas to alternate-day supply; private tankers fill the gap.
Chennai
Chennai Metro Water delivers water lorries booked through Dial for Water, online or by phone, within two days.
If you have to use a private tanker
- Compare the price per 1,000 litres with ourtanker cost calculator, and share what you paid on your pincode page so neighbours can compare.
- Ask where the water comes from. Read is tanker water safe?
- Check the tanker looks clean, and don't drink the water until it has been treated.
Numbers come from the water boards' websites and can change. watercut.live doesn't book tankers and isn't linked to any water board.
